FAQ

Common questions

Is it free?

Completely free. No account needed — just open the page and use it.

When would I use this?

It's great for anything you want to keep in a notes app — passwords, auth codes, private info — but don't want stored as plain text.
Paste the encrypted URL wherever you need it, and unlock it with your passphrase anytime.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes — it runs in the browser, so any device works. No app to install.

Where is the encrypted data stored?

Nowhere on our end. Encryption and decryption happen entirely in your browser, and the encrypted data lives inside the URL itself.

What if I forget the passphrase?

There's no way to recover it — not even for us. Always verify that you can decrypt the text right after encrypting it.

What if the service shuts down?

We've open-sourced the decryption logic on GitHub, so you can always decrypt manually.
And honestly — we use this ourselves across hundreds of Notion pages. It's not going anywhere.
